From the look of that stylus, the touchscreen is probably resistive, as opposed to projected capacitive. The resistive works fine for touching, and lets you use a stylus for hitting small buttons on the LCD.

The downside is that the resistive is much less optically transmissive. In a camera, where you want to use the screen to review photos and modify settings based on what you see, I'm inclined to see that the tradeoff is not worth it. I prefer a camera with an optically clearer non-touch screen. But then, I'm finicky about cameras and pictures.
